Rate: £ 10 to £ 15 (Part-time) + negotiable

FAMILY LEGAL SECRETARY - AVON

A vacancy has arisen within our family law department for temporary secretarial maternity cover for 6 -12 months. Although a temporary post, there is the possibility it may lead to a permanent role in the firm, for the right candidate.
Working within a busy department, you will be providing effective secretarial support for an associate and a solicitor specialising in Child Abduction.

Duties
- Typing correspondence and documents
- General secretarial support
- Arranging meetings and appointments with clients on the phone
- Receiving phone calls from clients, solicitors, experts etc
- General administration and file management

Competencies

Essential skills and competencies:
· Good typing skills
· Excellent organisational skills
· IT literate/ knowledge of Word
· Good telephone manner
· Team player/ good communication skills

The successful candidate will ideally have a self motivated and common sense approach to their work, showing enthusiasm and initiative.

Experience
Experience of working as a secretary in a busy work environment is essential, as is experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Ideally the successful candidate will have some legal secretarial experience preferably in a family law department.

Education
A good command of the English language is essential as are effective IT skills and basic numeric skills.
